     Photographic Inspirations Blog      | I put the finishing touches on Tutti Frutti Lane this past weekend… “Tutti Frutti Lane” 40″x40″,hand dyed sandwashed cotton,Mistyfuse applique,machine quilted detail: I am really having fun working with house imagery and have started another one in the series based on [...] The Alliance for American Quilts organizations contest theme this year is Home is Where the Quit is. Since I’ve been working a lot lately with house imagery I thought I’d make a quilt for the contest: “quilters neighborhood” Hand dyed sandwashed cotton,Mistyfuse,machine quilted Overall size:19″x15″ After finishing all the fabric strip blocks I was still left with a pretty big pile of scraps: and so I decided to build some houses with some of it: 25"x 35"hand dyed sandwashed cotton,machine quilted This piece has a lot of quilting on it!. It’s been ages since I [...] one strip led to another,led to another and so on and so on… and this is where I ended up with all of them. Right now this is about 44″x 88″give or take a few inches and it’s all done with my hand dyed sandwashed cotton (yup,I even dyed the [...] in my last post I mentioned that I had started working with this pile of hand dyed cotton strips: Well I’ve been sitting at the machine sewing non stop turning them into a bunch of these: Which then got turned into a bunch of these:  I am fortunate to live on a piece of property that is surrounded by trees which not only provides a lot of privacy but some really wonderful views as well.
