what’s going on…

I know I have been very bad about keeping my blog updated lately.  The last couple of months have been crazy busy and before any more time passes without an update I decided I would sit down this morning and create a blog post to let you all know what I’ve been working on…

I’m writing another book!  Yup it’s true.  I signed on with Interweave Press to write a book and I’m super excited about it.

I can’t give you any details yet but I will say that it’s a project based book using my favorite fusible (Mistyfuse of course!) and that it’ll be packed with techniques and projects.  I’ll have more information about it in the coming months so stay tuned for that and some sneak peeks of the projects.

I was very excited to learn that my quilt Tutti Frutti Main Street won a ribbon at the International Quilt Festival this year!

Tutti Frutti Main Street –70″x 33″

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to travel to Houston this year for Festival due to some upcoming shoulder surgery so if you’re at the show and have a moment to get a photo of it hanging with it’s ribbon I’d be grateful.

And yes,you read that correctly.  I have to have some shoulder surgery in a couple of weeks and because of that I’ve had to stop working in the studio but I am hoping to be able to get back to work in the studio by January 1.  In the meantime I’m spending a lot of time sketching out new quilts, dreaming up projects for my book and looking forward to January 1!

Congratulations!!! A book deal and a ribbon!!! Woo Hoo! I look forward to adding the book to my library. Love to add the quilt to my walls, too. LOL! Take care and hope the surgery relieves the pain in your shoulder. Dad had that done 25 years ago and he never regretted it. He could swing a hammer like he was 25 again. 🙂 xoxo
