It all starts on the pages of my sketchbook. An idea forms in my head (in this case it was the idea to do a Tutti Frutti Doghouse quilt) and some very rough scribbles are made on the page…
Then the sketches get a little more refined and some color is added…
Then a full scale rendition of the sketches are made…
This is going to be a big quilt measuring about 36″x 70″. The full scale drawing gives me an opportunity to make sure that the scale of all the major elements on the quilt are the right size and that the overall vision is going to translate the way I want it to into a quilt. Then the quilt making process begins…
back in a week or two with the finished quilt!

that full size mockup. is that fabric or paper? do you then cut it up to use as patterns for your applique pieces? really cool process.
This quilt is going to be awesome! It would be wonderful on a wall at the spca or something of that sort.
