Tutti Frutti City 24″x 60″
Hand Dyed Cotton,Machine quilted
I was in NY a couple of months ago and got to walk along the High Line in Manhattan. It’s a public park built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets and when you walk along it the noise and chaos of the streets below seems to fade into the background. It’s really like a different world up on the High Line because it’s very green and lush with all types of plants and greenery. It was really cool to walk along it and view the city buildings and the street from such a different perspective than the one you get when you are walking along the street. The colors of the city seem so much more vivid from up there. Anyway, this is the quick sketch I did inspired by my walk that became the quilt you see above.

I love this quilt with the repetition, the wonkiness, the colours and clean design. The black lines must have taken an age to do,but they very much enhance the finished piece. Beautiful work.
What fun! It’s nice to see where the idea came from.
Great way to see your creative process. Thanks for sharing!
See you in Houston,XO
That is super cool!
