I recently did something that I have always wanted to do –I signed up for a drawing class. This is something that I’ve thought about doing for years but just never seem to have the time to commit to doing. Well I decided that it was time to just do it so I signed up for the beginning drawing class at the Danforth Museum of Art and went to my first class this past week. My goal for the class is to gain confidence with drawing and to be able to translate what I see into images on the paper. It’s a 12 week class and I decided that I would share my drawings each week here on my blog. As you look at my drawings each week, keep in mind that I’m a rank beginner and be kind!
Okay so here’s a few of the drawings I did in the first class. I was working with charcoal which I’ve never worked with before…
Hopefully you can tell that we were working on drawing apples and pears! I was drawing on both sides of the paper which is why you can see some shadows coming through –lesson learned and I won’t do that again.

well done Sue.I hope you are having fun,but I know it is hard work with all the concentration involved.

You don’t look like a beginner.
The drawings certainly don’t look like they were done by a beginner. They look great Sue! Can’t wait to see your future drawings from class.
I think they look great! Good for you for taking the class.
