August is turning out to be a busy time in the studio for me…
There’s new artwork in progress:
Fabric is being dyed:
This is how I keep track of my dye samples. I have a card for each dye I purchase and then staple a sample of each fabric that I dye with it so that I have an easy visual reference of how the dye reacts on that particular fabric. I make notes right on the fabric swatch about which fabric it is,how much dye I used etc. I use a marker to color code the tabs of each card so that it’s easy for me to reach into the box and pull out the color cards that I want to look through:
And I’ve been doing a lot of practicing on my newest studio investment:
I’ve had my Handiquilter Sweet 16 for a couple of weeks now and I’m loving it! I haven’t attempted any quilting with it beyond practicing but that is going to change later this week…

what a busy,yet organized,space!!
just perfect
I LOVE the Handiquilter Sweet 16! It’s a fun machine. Enjoy!
I’m impressed with your dye swatches. Very organized! I bet that helps a lot when you are trying to obtain a certain color.
By the way –I love your new book. I finally had a chance to look through it. Very inspiring!
You have been busy.
