I am fortunate to live on a piece of property that is surrounded by trees which not only provides a lot of privacy but some really wonderful views as well. And because I live in New England, every fall I am treated to some wonderful ranges of colors as the trees begin their ritual of hibernating for the fall. I recently snapped this photo of one of my favorite trees that my studio looks out onto:
The ranges of oranges and yellows that this tree had on it as it made it’s transition from summer to fall was stunning and it inspired this fiber collage:
“transition”
24″x 60″hand dyed sandwashed cotton, raw edge fused applique
I hand cut (with my new favorite Havel scissors) all the pieces for this piece include all the black lines which were all stitched in place after they were Mistfuse‘d in place.

Love how you used the colors here, beautiful!
