okay I admit it:I occasionally overshoot the parchment paper and iron right over the Mistyfuse and make a mess of my iron. This as you probably already know, makes a mess of the iron that is hard to clean off. I’ve tried all kinds of cleaners to get the gunk off: I’ve ironed over dryer softener sheets,I used the expensive iron cleaners that come in a tube, industrial strength adhesive removers, the Mr Clean sponges. Yup,tried em all with various results ranging from “why did I bother”to “well that’s a little better”. Well I’ve finally found a solution that works so good I had to share it.
I bought this tube of Bohin iron cleaner in Houston while I was at Festival and used it today to clean my iron. This stuff is pure magic! To say I was flabbergasted at how well it cleaned my iron is an understatement –I mean this stuff really does work. The sole plate of my iron looks as good as it did when I pulled it out of the box new. I bought the tube I have from Sue Pelland but I don’t see it listed on her website although you might email her to see if she has anymore. Otherwise I highly recommend googling Bohin Iron Cleaner and finding a source so you can order yourself one.

So glad to learn of this product –my iron thanks you too!
I meant to get some in Houston! I’ll have to get some,my irons are a mess.
Sue –I used mine yesterday on my mini Rowenta which was covered in black gunk. A couple of swipes without any rubbing or working-it is sparkly again. –great stuff. Thanks!
Sounds like the Bee’s Knees in iron cleaner. I will put that on my shopping list to check out.
Amazon has it listed.
That’s nice to know. My iron gets hard use.
